Surah Baqarah is the 2nd and the largest Surah Holy Quran. It consists of 286 verses. Surah Baqarah is a Madni Surah i-e it was revealed on Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in Madina. Surah Baqarah has various and great rewards in this life and in the hereafter. Surah Baqarah has some virtues that are mention below.

Benefits of Surah Al Baqarah:

Surat al-Baqarah starts off by telling us what the Quran is, how we must approach to the Holy Quran, and what qualifications we need to benefit from it. Three types of people are discussed in this Surah,
1. The people who will get benefit from the giddiness of Holy

Quran. 2. The person who recite daily but won’t 3. The person that they only pretending the people of the Quran.
The remaining Surah is a combination of history and instructions.
• Guideless for the people:

We often take the Quran as a bunch of magic-words to parrot in order to drive Shaytan away. But the Quran isn’t just about memorizing and repeating rather it is much more than that. As Allah (swt) says in the very beginning of Surat al-Baqarah Allah almighty Says” this book is guidance.”

Protecting from Shaytan:

Shaytan run away from a house where Surat al-Baqarah is recited it is narrated by our holy prophet PBUH. He also pointed out the virtues of some specific points of this surah. He said, “Recitation of last two verses of Surah Baqarah at night ,is sufficient for a man.” (Bukhari 5009). The same is true about the last ten verses of Surah Al Baqarah.

Ayat Ul Kursi:-

Ayat al-Kursi, is a main part of this surah al Baqarah., If you recite the Surah Baqarah when you go to bed, you will be protected from Shaytan until dawn, (Bukhari 5010). Shaytan will not enter in to the house where surah Baqarah is recited. It helps to protect the person who recites it against the evil eye.

Greater Reward On The Day Of Judgement:-

Surah Baqarah brings greater reward on The Day of Judgment and also adds blessings in this worldly life. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “Recite the Quran, because on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who recite It”

On the Day of Judgment, different people and things will come and testify against you. Among them is the Quran. The Prophet (SAW) said, “On the Day of Revival, the Qur’an and those who acted according to it will be brought, with Surat al-Baqarah and AIi ‘Imran preceding them.” (Muslim 805)

Conclusion

In conclusion, we should try to recite the Surah Al Baqarah in order to get a proper understanding of Holy Quran. So that we should know about the history of Islam and can act upon its wisdom by memorizing it. We should learn Surah Baqarah by heart as it is full of guideness of the people and the history of Islam. May Allah enable us all to bring His verses into our hearts and make them a means of illuminating our hearts and our graves! Ameen
