As Quran is written in Arabic and for non-Arabs it’s is difficult to read the Quran. It’s the right of the Holy book to be read beautifully. There are many ways in which one can increase fluency in the recitation of the Quran.
Our Holy book consists of Surahs and Surahs that contain letters and letters, words and words. It all starts with the correct pronunciation of these words. And it can only be done by understanding the sound of letters and words and then repeating them over and over again.
However, it may seem difficult in the beginning and require an effort but one should know the purpose of why he/she wants to learn the proper recitation. The Prophet (saws) encouraged us thus in the following hadith:
“The one who is proficient in the recitation of the Qur’an will be with the honorable and obedient scribes (angels) and he who recites the Qur’an and finds it difficult to recite, doing his best to recite it in the best way possible, will have a double reward.”
The term Tajweed means to learn in a better way. It is important when learning to recite the Quran. In short, it refers to the rules regarding good pronunciation.
Moreover, it is said that the language of kings is king of all the languages. Then, what’s Arabic? Isn’t it the language of King, the Almighty? Yes, it is. That’s why it deserves to learn first with proper pronunciation. And reciting Quran with Tajweed gives you inner peace and serenity of heart and mind. And if you ignore Tajweed, then you’re missing the most fundamental and spiritual part of the religion.
It is mandatory to learn about intonation while reciting Quran. It guides about when and where to start and stop, or where to increase or decrease the voice. This way the recitation sounds attractive. However, following the proper rules and characteristics can lead to better intonation.
The Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H) said:
“Religion is sincerity: to Allah, to His Book, to His Messenger, and the leaders of the Muslims and their common folk.”
As it is said that practice makes a man perfect. So, the same rule applies here, that repeating a task unless one excels in it is the key to success. At Alim Live we have professional teachers who help in practicing the recitation of the Quran.
